Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to work in our laboratory at Naval Hospital Bremerton. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field and current certification/registration as determined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT).

Responsibilities:

Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory, including hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and blood bank. Determine the suitability of specimens for analysis and prepare them for testing. Prepare reagents and primary reference materials as necessary and calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments. Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products and maintain proper records for quality control and quality assurance reports. Prepare specimens for transport to the MTF laboratory or for mail out and prepare biological waste for proper disposal.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field and current certification/registration as determined by the ASCP or AMT. One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
