Accountant

The Salvation Army - Empire State Division Headquarters is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reports, preparing billings, and ensuring compliance with grant financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and management of financial reports for government and non-government entities
- Main contact with grantors to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Manage collection efforts for billing revenues
- Work with program directors to generate financial information for grant renewals and initial proposals
- Perform internal audit function of grants to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Reconciliation of account balances
- Assist with the preparation of the agency budget and financial statements
Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years of accounting experience preferred
- Non-profit industry experience preferred
- Experience with Grant and/or Contract Accounting preferred
- Advanced skill level with Excel
