About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Creative Works in Augusta, ME.

Job Summary

This is a full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing individualized support and care to our program participants, promoting their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for assigned individuals, attending all meetings, scheduling and ensuring medical, dental, and therapy appointments, and developing and maintaining family and community relationships.
  • Attend to individuals' personal care needs, including lifting and assisting them in and out of wheelchairs, using Hoyer lifts, and maintaining good hygiene.
  • Transport individuals as needed, using a personal vehicle to attend appointments, work, and other activities.
  • Transfer from one assignment to another as requested, such as from one residence to another or from day program to residence and vice versa.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting people with brain injuries and/or disabilities preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform range of motion tasks, including standing, bending, stretching, stooping, and reaching.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record per agency insurance company standards.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with ability to maintain documentation standards, reports, and Individual Program Plans (IPPs).
