Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineering Manager to join our team at Northrop Grumman. In this role, you will oversee the technical work and leadership of System Engineering (SE) teams responsible for mission-critical space applications.

About the Role

This position is part functional management and part direct charge program work. As a Functional Manager, you will provide cross-program collaboration opportunities for Operating Units to leverage technologies or designs that may not have been previously considered. The Direct Program work will include SE technical work and/or leadership, such as developing career development plans for staff at various experience levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee qualified and experienced personnel and supporting design and analysis tools to meet staffing needs of programs.
  • Track and execute peer reviews for major program events.
  • Provide staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management, and separation of assigned employees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance at time of application, with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 9+ years, Master's Degree with 7 years, or PhD with 5 years.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering for mission-critical space applications.
  • Proficiency in related engineering programs, Microsoft Office, or equivalent document generation programs, Microsoft SharePoint, or equivalent collaboration tool.
  • Experience in systems engineering functional management or demonstrated leadership experience.

Estimated Salary Range: $170,000 - $250,000 per year
