At LAREDO - CITY OF, we are seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $20.34 per hour.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated professional who will work in partnership with the Employee Relations Manager to create, foster, and maintain positive work relationships between the City of Laredo and its employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support on policies and procedures; collaborating with various departments to facilitate conflict resolution; and assisting in the development and implementation of training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to assist in developing solutions, programs, and policies for departmental needs.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit reorganizations, workforce planning, succession planning, and other related matters.
  • Manages relationships with departments by setting expectations, communicating project status and issues, resolving concerns, and meeting or exceeding client expectations.

Requirements:
The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions. A strong background in human resources, employment law, or a related field is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications is also required.
