Wieland is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team in Pine Hall, NC. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing methods for complex manufacturing processes related to part fabrication of copper tubing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production and laboratory personnel to drive a quality culture via Process Management principles.
- Develop KIV/KOV relationships and associated system implementation, including communication plans and SPC where appropriate.
- Identify improvements to our quality management system, particularly in the areas of prevention, correction, document control, and continuous improvement.
- Support Technical Service needs related to customer expectations, including root cause investigation through laboratory defect sample analysis and other problem-solving techniques.
- Provide leadership and guidance on material certifications, PPAPs, GR&R studies, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, and defective materials reports.
- Responsible for product development for new and existing customers, supporting and/or leading teams in process and product development activities.
- Serve an essential role in new manufacturing equipment commissioning, establishing SOPs such as operating procedures, recipes, quality controls for production.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, safety, and quality concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate technical information and strong organizational skills.
- Strong skill set in ISO 9001 requirements is preferred.
- General knowledge of SPC and statistical concepts is strongly preferred.
- Six sigma green belt certification preferred.
