Job Summary

We are seeking a Recreation Aide to assist in the proper use of a community recreational facility and provide support to Recreation Leaders in delivering a variety of recreation programs related to sports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in leading recreation activities in program areas such as sports.
  • Carry out recreational activities in various locations such as parks and sports facilities.
  • Set up, take down, and clean up recreational facilities as assigned.
  • Provide minor first aid to recreation program participants and perform related first aid/emergency techniques.
  • Exercise precautions necessary to ensure the safety of recreation program participants and spectators.
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of recreation activities.
  • Ability to do heavy physical work, including lifting and moving tables and chairs.
  • Rules, regulations, procedures, and score keeping as applied to the conduct of field sport league activities.
  • Age group characteristics of preschool children.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • English language skills, including punctuation and spelling.
  • Point of sale or cash register skills.
Working Conditions

The Recreation Aide will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with recreation program participants, spectators, and staff. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
