Job Summary

The Olympia School District is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality healthcare services to students with special needs. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer specialized treatment, medication, and first aid as needed to provide appropriate care for students with special needs.
  • Record and maintain accurate medical records related to student health care plans.
  • Plan, organize, and implement health-related activities for students with special needs.
  • Communicate effectively with certificated staff, school nurses, and parents regarding student health care needs.
  • Assist certificated staff and therapists in providing selected activities to students, including academic, self-help, social, motor, or life skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in providing healthcare services to students within the classroom and school environment.
  • Travel in-district to assist in programs at other locations as requested by the Student Support Office.
Requirements
  • Prior job-related experience.
  • Skills to operate standard office equipment, use English in both written and verbal form, and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and health care practices and procedures, as well as basic symptoms of communicable and other childhood-related diseases.
  • Abilities to maintain accurate records, use computer software, and communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, work independently, and understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions

The LPN will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The position requires flexibility, patience, and good judgment in emergency situations.
