Job Description Summary

This entry-level position will support a team of Specimen Management Consultants (SMC) and Clinical Specialists (CS) in the Northeast region who will be responsible for achieving sales objectives through targeted customer engagement, negotiation, contracting, training, and general sales support.

This position will have exposure to BD's Specimen Management portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the regional sales team (and national sales team as needed) gaining exposure to US healthcare; specifically laboratory, nursing, and physician engagement advancing one's BD Way of Selling and business/industry acumen.
  2. Complete sales training learning the IDS portfolio to effectively provide support to field associates.
  3. Protect and grow the Specimen Management (SM) portfolio.
  4. Provide customers with product information, data insights, clinical education, and product training.
  5. Inform customers of new and current pricing, backorder management, and company policies.
  6. Execute comprehensive in-service of SM products to all concerned individuals.
  7. Work closely with field associates (SMC) and Regional Business Manager (RBM) on planning and prioritization of sales calls, managing time, and business travel effectively.
  8. Develop thorough knowledge of all related products.
  9. Work closely with and communicate often with both field associates and RBM, within assigned geography.
  10. Inform field associates (SMC) and RBM of significant changes in customer accounts.
  11. Report customer complaints in accordance with IDS complaint policies and procedures.
  12. Complete all administrative duties associated with the position per policy.
  13. Cultivate new and existing customers to establish long-term mutually beneficial relationships.
  14. Work a flexible work schedule and travel to meet the needs of IDS customers.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required.
  2. 1-2 years of outside sales experience or equivalency.
  3. Ability to travel up to 75%.
  4. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Willingness to relocate for and promote to available account representative positions.
  6. Strong persuasion and influencing skills.
  7. Good judgment and professional behavior.
  8. Basic knowledge of Laboratory, Nursing, and Medical Device industry.
  9. Excellent listening and communication skills.
  10. Demonstrated ability to effectively build and sustain professional relationships with hospital, other sales, and corporate office personnel.
  11. Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued license driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards.
