Internal Communications Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Communications Specialist to join our team at Sparks Group in Washington, DC.

This hybrid role will focus on creating and disseminating engaging content for internal staff, with a four-day in-office schedule and one day remote work arrangement.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies in collaboration with senior managers.
  • Ensure successful communication of organizational initiatives and projects to employees through relevant stakeholders.
  • Create compelling content for various internal communications channels.
  • Maintain consistency across all mediums and departments within the Division.
  • Align internal communications with external messaging.
  • Respond to feedback from diverse constituents and adjust content accordingly.
  • Manage crisis situations impacting organizational reputation and perception.
  • Communicate complex operational and policy matters to various stakeholders.
  • Responsible for uploading and editing content on the intranet, SharePoint specifically.
  • Support internal events as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of experience in internal communications is required.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills are essential.
  • Prior experience in journalism, writing press releases, news articles, technical, and/or customer-focused environments is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Awareness of AP style is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $34.00 to $44.00 per hour.
