Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students in grades K-5 and make a positive impact on their educational journey.


Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year

This salary estimate is based on the location near Columbia, Tennessee, and takes into account the experience required for this role.


Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. They will provide specialized instruction and support to help students achieve academic and social goals.

Other key responsibilities include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing learning environment, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, and assessing student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (or related field)
  • Valid state teaching certification/license in Special Education
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs in inner-city settings is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
