Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriter - Non-QM Specialist to join our team at Paramount Residential Mortgage Group. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing loan files to ensure compliance with company and investor guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company and investor guidelines.
  • Evaluate entire credit package and collateral for residential mortgage loans to ensure an investment-quality loan product.
  • Verify accuracy of all calculations and data integrity.
  • Complete all required underwriting worksheets found in FastTrac 360 Resource Center.
  • Recommend loan disposition to underwriting manager for loan amounts exceeding authority limitation.
  • Maintain company standard for productivity level and comply with company policy of 48-hour underwriting turnaround time and 24-hour turnaround time for clearing conditions.
  • Meet productivity standards and strive to meet 2 decisions per day within allotted time.
  • Communicate decisions on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain underwriting activity logs and provide monthly underwriting report to underwriting manager.
  • Perform frontline underwriting of non-QM loan products.
  • Analyze applicant's income and expense data, asset documentation, credit reports, and property valuations.
  • Perform manual underwriting, requiring detailed familiarity with various loan programs.
  • Execute appraisal analysis to determine acceptable collateral standards.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
  • Provide guidance to processors on guideline interpretations and loan file questions.
  • Respond to post-closing reviews and audits in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent NON-QM mortgage underwriting experience with solid working knowledge of underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to review and calculate complex personal and/or business financials and tax profiles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Encompass loan origination system experience required.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technologically proficient in MS Windows software.

Education:

  • High school diploma.
