We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at DO & CO. As a Food Safety Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor the execution of food safety and quality assurance programs throughout the Unit.
  • Provide support to the QA and Sanitation Department.
  • Conduct audits and ensure the Unit maintains Halal, Non-Halal, and food safety standards.
  • Maintain facility hygiene standards.

A Day in the Life:

  • Pre-operational checks, operational checks, and post-operational checks.
  • Temperature checks, cooler/freezer checks, thermometer calibration, sanitizer checks.
  • Verification of cleaning activities of third-party cleaning company.
  • Responds to questions regarding food safety processes.
  • Reinforce GMP best practices by completing regular floor walks and self-audits.
  • Escalate non-compliance to the Hygiene & Quality Assurance Manager and Department manager and follow up on timely corrective action.
  • Conduct regular traceability audits, regular lab collections, and regular swabs for testing.
  • Ensure quality assurance and product/food safety and regulatory compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health, and food safety regulations.
  • Provide support before/at customer audits, health department inspections, training, and consultations and ensure employees understand and comply with applicable standards.

Requirements:

  • Good computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Knowledge in HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems.
  • Food Safety Certification, state specific if applicable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • HACCP Certified preferred.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Flexibility (different shifts - early morning, evening, weekends, holidays).
