Nuclear Engineer Position

At Naval Sea Systems Command, we are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer to join our team. As a Nuclear Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and operation of nuclear propulsion plants and systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct the design, development, construction, modification, testing, and operation of nuclear propulsion plants, systems, or components.
- Provide technical direction and oversight of various government laboratories, prime contractors, shipyard design agents, and on-site contractor personnel in support of naval nuclear propulsion plants.
- Coordinate with other technical divisions, project managers, business support divisions, and senior management to ensure delivered products fully support Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operations.
- Serve as a recognized consultant and a senior technical expert, providing guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band (BN-3) or grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
