Job Summary:

Anderson Dahlen is seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to oversee the planning and coordination of the company's inventory and purchasing departments. This key role will manage the overall shipping and receiving functions, ensuring seamless operations and efficient supply chain management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic sourcing activities, including competitive vendor assessments and managing supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify purchasing needs and recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity.
  • Record and assess all materials quality, movement, and expenditures, and manage the distribution of supplies in the organization.
  • Monitor inventory levels and access to the material, and collaborate with management to plan forecasting models.
  • Oversee and support subordinates in buying, shipping, and receiving, and prepare and file detailed records on procurement activity, quantity, and vendors.
  • Design and maintain department and inventory budgets, and maintain and report on materials and sourcing-related Key Performance Indicators.
  • Manage excess and obsolete materials, and participate in shared services teams supporting other sites and M&A activity as needed.
  • Establish best practices and processes and implement across supported sites.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a relevant field.
  • APICS certification desired.
  • 5+ years' experience in a purchasing role, with proven managerial experience.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems, and advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an analytical mind with exceptional problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing-type environment, with this position primarily involving operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
