Physician Assistant Educator

About the Role:
The Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Physician Assistant Program is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Physician Assistant to join our faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in educating and mentoring the next generation of physician assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality educational content for courses within the didactic and clinical curricula.
- Teach and mentor students in the classroom and clinical settings.
- Participate in curriculum development and ongoing program progress.
- Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, and maintenance of quality clinical rotation sites.
- Participate in ongoing schedule of periodic site visits to evaluate students on clinical rotation and to evaluate clinical sites and the supervision provided by clinical preceptors.
- Assist program director and/or his/her designee with accreditation documentation and problem-solving activities related to the didactic and clinical curriculum.
- Support educational research and scholarship to foster a learning community of educator-scholars who will ensure educational excellence for all physician assistant students.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
- Master's degree or higher. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Current NCCPA certification and eligible for licensure in Georgia.
- Demonstrated commitment to MSM's Mission to lead the creation and advancement of health equity.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in complex interdisciplinary and inter-professional settings.
- Demonstrated ability to engage, support, and lead diverse groups.
- Minimum 2 years of experience of academic teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a physician assistant.
- Expertise in pedagogy, learning, and assessment, and demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to current trends in physician assistant education.
- Demonstrated success in working with faculty, administrators, students, and staff within a higher education learning community.
- Passion for and commitment to physician assistant education for purposes of optimizing patient outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
