Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver to transport freight across the country's road networks. The successful candidate will operate a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, with the ability to operate reefer bodies or flat beds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely Deliver Freight: Deliver freight at various locations, including over long distances, while adhering to federal and state trucking rules and regulations.
  • Plan Efficient Routes: Plan the most efficient routes and deliver freight on time, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of our freight.
  • Perform Pre-Trip Inspections: Perform truck and trailer inspections before departure to ensure good running order, and inventorize loads and document the condition of the freight before departure.
  • Assist with Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of freight, and obtain the client's signature on delivery.
  • Monitor Freight Distribution: Secure the freight in place before departure and monitor its safe distribution throughout the trip.
  • Perform Service Checks: Perform service checks on tire pressure, oil, and fluid levels, as well as minor repairs, when required.
  • Log Trip Details: Log the hours driven, rest stop durations, distances covered, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses.
  • Report Delays: Report any delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to management.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL A): Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) and extensive experience as a tractor-trailer truck driver.
  • Reefer and Flat Bed Experience: Must have reefer and flat bed experience, and a certificate of completion of a professional truck driving course is preferred.
  • Incident-Free Driving Record: Must have an incident-free driving record and solid knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance.
  • Route Planning Skills: Must have advanced knowledge of route planning, using both road maps and GPS devices.
  • Long-Hour Work Ability: Must be able to work long, irregular hours, and remain alert and focused throughout.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Must have strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
