Early Childhood Educator

Cook Inlet Tribal Council Inc is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Clare Swan Early Learning Center. As a Teacher in our Infant and Toddler Program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development, and supporting their families.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with our curriculum and meet the unique needs of each child.
- Provide high-quality care and education to infants and toddlers, including activities that promote language, literacy, and numeracy skills.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent experience required.
- At least 6 months of experience working with young children, preferably in an Early Head Start or Head Start environment.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices, including cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience working with Alaska Native and American Indian communities.
- Knowledge of local and national standards for early childhood education.
- Fluency in multiple languages, including English and a Native Alaskan language.
This position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for long periods of time. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality care and education to young children.
