Job Opportunity at Hazen and Sawyer

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Server Developer and Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, both on-premises and in the Microsoft Azure cloud.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and views to simplify access to data and increase performance.
  • Work with application developers to create new databases and schemas compatible with their object/relational mapping tools.
  • Design and implement database server processes, including scheduling and maintenance of recurring data administration jobs, ETL, and data synchronization.
  • Implement and maintain various ETL processes using Microsoft Power platform.
  • Assist clients in migrations and 'lift and shift' of existing SQL Server databases.
  • Recommend and implement secure cloud-based architectures for Microsoft SQL Server implementations.
Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 years proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server developer and administrator, or similar role.
  • Understanding of various programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, or others.
  • Possess a 'fundamentals' cloud certification related to databases, data storage, and/or big data.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and APIs.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, related to database automation and administration.
  • A proactive approach and eagerness to take on new challenges.
  • Familiarity with modeling applications and environmental science.
