About the Role

As a Food Preparation and Service Team Member at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in preparing fresh food items daily for our members. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality products are available in our prepared foods area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a Team Player: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise; collaborate with colleagues and educate them on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate effectively with team members; and be flexible to meet business needs.
  • Be an Expert: Prepare food according to item specifications; understand and plan future productions and mass productions; prepare for seasonality; adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment; and demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution.
  • Be a Techie: Utilize digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner: Drive performance of the area; utilize digital tools; manage high exposure and expectations; stock and rotate merchandise; ensure quality and date control standards; eliminate waste; guide peers and provide attention to customer needs; assist customers according to company policies and procedures.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: Be an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products; execute basics at the highest possible level of quality; and exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Food Service experience preferred
  • Food Handler Certification (Food Safety) - Certification preferred
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $16.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on location and experience. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
