Job Summary:

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our SE Division. This exciting opportunity will provide coverage for our Littleton, Swedish, Centennial, or Aurora clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. Initiate and document appropriate interventions, evaluate and record patient/family response, and prescribe therapies as indicated. Perform procedures and mentor/train other providers. Assess patient/family needs and provide education. Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Consistently incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice. In-depth knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. Often provide case management for patients and their families. Often serve as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials. Provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed. As subject matter expert, promote/provide staff education. Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hours calls. Serve as subject matter expert to the community, providing education and resources as needed. Likely to supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff. May serve in practice or network-wide APP leadership role. May precept APP students. Mentor new advanced practice providers. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. This position typically requires a minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner and 3-5 years in either in-patient or ambulatory oncology setting. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. AOCNP preferred. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. OR Physician Assistant: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. This position requires at least one year of experience in either a critical care environment, internal medicine, or oncology. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
