Job Title: VMware Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, and manage our private cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and managing VMware environments, automating VM provisioning, integrating APIs, and extracting data from vCenter.

Key Responsibilities:

VMware Infrastructure:
1. Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related infrastructure in a private cloud environment.
2. Configure and optimize VMware environments for performance, scalability, and security.
3. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Automation and Integration:
1. Automate VM provisioning using VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) or other tools.
2. Integrate VMware APIs with other systems (e.g., ITSM, CMDB) for streamlined workflows.
3. Develop scripts for automated tasks using PowerShell, Python, or other languages.
4. Collaborate with automation team to implement efficient workflows and integrations.

Data Extraction and Analysis:
1. Extract data from vCenter and other VMware tools for capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization.
2. Develop dashboards and reports using VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) or other tools.
3. Analyze data to identify trends, optimize resource utilization, and improve overall infrastructure efficiency.

Guidance and Collaboration:
1. Guide automation team on VMware best practices, API integrations, and automation strategies.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, network, storage) to ensure seamless integration.
3. Provide training and support to junior team members.

Requirements:

Technical:
1. 5+ years of experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies.
2. Expertise in VMware automation tools (e.g., vRA, PowerCLI, VCD).
3. Strong understanding of API integrations (e.g., REST, SOAP).
4. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
5. Experience with private cloud infrastructure and management.

Soft Skills:
1. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
2. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Certifications:
1. VMware VCP-DCV or higher certification.
2. Additional certifications (e.g., VCIX, VCAP) are a plus.

Education:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Nice to Have:
1. Experience with cloud management platforms (e.g., OpenStack, AWS).
2. Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
3. Experience integrating a CMP (Cloud Management Platform) on top of VMware (e.g., Morpheus, Cloudforms)
