Vertex Limited is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our multi-discipline Agile/DevSecOps Development team in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and documenting software for our Air Soldier products. The ideal candidate will have experience with C++, Java, and Python programming languages, as well as familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps software development processes. Strong communication and teaming skills are essential for this role. The Software Engineer II will work closely with other engineers to design and develop software solutions that meet the needs of our customers. The ability to work in an agile environment, cross-functionally with paired programming techniques, is required. The Software Engineer II will also be responsible for sharing knowledge with other engineers and contributing to the maturing and improvement of our processes and products. Adherence to coding standards and best practices, as well as configuration management of all code, is required. This position will require onsite work, typically 2-3 days a week. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of related experience in software development or other related engineering experience. Familiarity with Linux, Android, or Windows operating systems, as well as Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD), is also required. The ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support customer meetings and integration and installation events is also necessary. A US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance is required. The Software Engineer II will be responsible for developing software, tailoring reusable software, and integrating software components on virtual machines and the target hardware. The Software Engineer II will also be responsible for sharing knowledge with other engineers and contributing to the maturing and improvement of our processes and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and teaming skills. The ability to work in an agile environment, cross-functionally with paired programming techniques, is required.
