Foundations Liaison Officer

The Foundation Relations Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of foundations to support institutional priorities at Boston Medical Center. This involves driving projects that propel the foundation relations strategy and revenue through relationship management, cultivation, solicitation of foundation gifts, proposal writing, and donor stewardship.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive foundation relations strategy to secure grants and donations.
- Build and maintain relationships with foundation representatives, principal investigators, and project managers to identify funding opportunities and develop proposals.
- Research and identify new potential foundation funders, solicit support for new and ongoing clinical initiatives, education programs, and research.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the institution to obtain necessary materials and information for proposal preparation and reporting.
- Coordinate with BMC Grants Administration staff to ensure compliance with research grants.
Analyze and assess draft proposals and attachments in relation to evaluation criteria and recommend strategies for strengthening proposals.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, reports, and other required documents to foundation funders.
Maintain accurate records of foundation interactions, proposals, and awards in NXT.
Contribute to the development of department, unit, and personal goals and annual strategic planning processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 6-8 years of related experience in healthcare, public health, social service, or research.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Blackbaud or other funder management platforms.
