Job Description

As a Clinical Respiratory Therapist at Bayfront Health in Orlando, Florida, you will play a critical role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders. Your expertise will be essential in initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, maintaining patient records, and selecting, assembling, checking, and operating equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in respiratory therapeutics and the use of non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other equipment required for respiratory care.
  • Maintain accurate and precise documentation, ensuring high-quality patient records.
  • Apply analytical reasoning skills to effectively blend patient care management with technical expertise.
  • Cultivate strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with healthcare teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers, specimen collection, and analysis of blood for gas transport and acid/base determinations.
  • Punctually attend regular meetings and adhere to Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients.
  • Possess expertise in medical gas administration, environmental control systems, humidification, medication delivery, non-invasive ventilatory support, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Instruct clinical practicum students, sharing your expertise and passion for respiratory therapy.
Qualifications:
  • Hold an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences (or equivalent).
  • Be eligible for the National Board for Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist exam per NBRC guidelines.
  • Complete basic computer and mechanical training.
Licensure/Certification:
  • Obtain and maintain a Registered Respiratory Therapist license by the State of Florida Department of Health.
  • Update credentials every five years, adhering to NBRC guidelines.
  • Hold current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $62,000-$90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
