Job Title: Water System Operator

Join the City of Nampa team as a Water System Operator and play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of water to our community.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to operate and maintain our water distribution system. As a Water System Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the water treatment process, performing routine maintenance tasks, and responding to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain water treatment plants and distribution systems
  • Monitor and control water quality parameters
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and inspecting equipment
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as water main breaks and equipment failures
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience in water treatment or distribution operations
  • Valid State of Idaho Class A Driver's License with Tanker and Air Brakes endorsements
  • Flagging Certification within 1 year of hire
  • Water Distribution II License
