Nurse Care Assistant

This role provides a unique opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while pursuing their RN degree.
Job Summary:
This transitional role assists nurses in performing various patient care services under supervision and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. As a Nurse Care Assistant, you will be responsible for completing patient care tasks based on your skills deemed competent in nursing school, contributing to overall quality and safe care for patients, creating a positive patient experience, and more.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Assist nurses in completing patient care tasks, such as bathing, ambulating, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene, and making occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Monitor patients' behavior and physical condition, reporting any changes or concerns to licensed nurses.
- Establish a compassionate environment, respond promptly to patients' needs, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and provide emotional support when needed.
- Participate in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, restock supplies, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Orient new patients and their families to the nursing unit, ensuring a smooth transition into care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, treatments, and progress through documentation and communication with the healthcare team.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Adhere to safety protocols, follow infection control guidelines, and report any hazards or incidents.
- Foster open communication, active listening, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Education and Experience:
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing, having completed the first clinical rotation.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk frequently, with occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Lift/carry objects weighing 0-25 lbs frequently, with occasional lifting/carrying objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements occur occasionally.

Additional Information:
We offer competitive compensation packages, including an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
