Nurse Care Specialist

Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Washington Odd Fellows Home. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to our residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the daily activities of licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants
- Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents
- Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel
- Participates in admission, discharge, and transfers of residents
- Assesses for changes in residents' status and notifies the physician and resident's family or representative
- Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written
- Prepares and administers medications as per physicians' orders
- Performs wound treatments as per physicians' orders
- Schedules follow-up appointments for residents and transportation needs
- Provides nursing leadership to nursing personnel
- Provides direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration, etc.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Washington State
- Current CPR certification
Work Environment:
Our nursing team works 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule that creates two 3-day weekends a month. We offer a supportive work environment and opportunities for professional growth and development.
