Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Professional to join our team at Northern Light Health. This role provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.

About the Role

As a Healthcare Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, or changing linens. You may also transfer or transport patients as needed. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare professionals to achieve successful customer outcomes and maximize unit function
* Precept new team members on job functions and responsibilities
* Orient patients to the hospital environment and routine
* Attend unit committees or educational peer opportunities to improve quality and engagement
* Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner
* Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives
* Communicate patient needs and information to oncoming staff at shift change and to RNs in a timely manner
* Provide care in accordance with the patient's plan of care
* Label and deliver specimens per policy
* Maintain a safe environment, adhering to NLH policies and procedures, and report environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol

Credentials and Education

* Required: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
* Required: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)

Working Conditions

* Lifting, moving, and loading 30-50 pounds
* Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends)

This is a PRN position, and hours are as needed. Estimated salary for this role is $ $18-$22 per hour.
