About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Assistant to join our team at Natural Grocers. As a key member of our Grocery Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and a seamless shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide World-Class Customer Service as a top priority, ensuring every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Inventory Management: Assist the Grocery Department Manager in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring all products meet company standards.
  • Department Operations: Assist in managing department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
  • Merchandising and Visual Displays: Merchandise shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays to create an inviting and engaging shopping environment.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training and monitoring department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.
  • Register Functions: Handle register functions, including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, and addressing customer complaints.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain the safety and security of customers and employees, adhering to company standards and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in a grocery or retail environment, preferably in natural foods.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to manage changing priorities, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
