Job Title: Behavior Technician

People Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development and implementation of staff training, behavior plans, and crisis intervention as assigned by the behavior specialist or support management specialist.
  • Plan and implement community activities that promote socialization and skill-building.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Administer medication following proper procedures and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals.
  • Transport individuals to and from activities safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure supplies are available to meet individuals' needs and participate in general staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Perform CPR and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) as required.
  • Record time worked at the start and end of each shift and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License that meets agency policy.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Ability to lift and transfer individuals manually and mechanically as required by prescribed program/plan.
  • Ability to move, reposition, and place individuals in pieces of equipment.
  • Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention certification as per regulatory guidelines.
  • CPR certification required.
