Job Title: Substitute School Nurse (RN)

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified Substitute School Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our school community, you will provide high-quality healthcare services to students, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer first aid, medication, and specialized medical treatment as needed
  • Maintain accurate health records of all students
  • Document all healthcare provided to students in a timely manner
  • Distribute and implement health protocols as directed by a District Registered Nurse
  • Provide immediate care in case of injury or sudden illness
  • Notify District Registered Nurse in case of an outbreak of disease
  • Follow Individual Health Care Plans and 504 Plans for students
  • Counsel with students concerning problems such as pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and substance abuse
  • Perform related work as required

Working Relationships:

You will have frequent contact with students, staff, and parents, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Working Conditions:

This role requires standing, sitting, and repetitive movements, as well as the ability to lift students as needed. You must also have the stamina to stand all day, every day, as required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • RN License from the State of Washington required
  • Valid CPR, First Aid, AED certification
  • Valid Washington State ESA Certificate
  • WSP and FBI fingerprint and background clearance
  • Valid Driver's License or photo identification
  • Social Security Card

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,551.38, based on a daily rate of $255.93 and a 7.0 hour workday.
