Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated New Graduate Nurse to join our team at Central Maine Healthcare. As a New Graduate Nurse, you will be part of our Nurse Residency Program, designed to support your transition from student to professional nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting
  • Obtain nursing history, perform nursing assessment, and develop plan of care for patients
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity
  • Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families
  • Function as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers
  • Consult other health team members/departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Document patient care according to current standards and policies
  • Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly
  • Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
Qualifications
  • Recent graduate from an accredited ADN or BSN program with less than 1-year experience
  • Active nurse licensure or eligible to obtain Maine State licensure
  • Active BLS certification
