About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems within our state-of-the-art research environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, conducting routine maintenance and inspections to ensure proper indoor air quality.
  • Collaborate closely with research personnel to meet specific laboratory and facility needs, adjusting environmental conditions to facilitate groundbreaking studies in immunology, infectious diseases, and related fields.
  • Perform assigned shift readings and process documentation, responding to emergency codes and building system alarms as needed.
  • Provide assistance to all trades as required, servicing refrigeration systems and mechanical equipment to maintain optimal performance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; journeyman HVAC license highly preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in HVAC operations, with a strong understanding of system troubleshooting and repair.
  • EPA 608 certification and NATE certification preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
