Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting technical lab staff, collecting and processing biological specimens, and performing waived and/or limited moderate complexity testing.
About the Role- Assist technical lab staff in the collection, receipt, and processing of biological specimens into the department.
- Prepare patient samples for analytical testing.
- Perform waived and/or limited moderate complexity testing under direct supervision.
This role reports to department leadership and takes direction from higher-level technical personnel. The successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of computer systems used in the department and track missing specimens while monitoring pending lists.
Responsibilities- Process and prepare patient samples as required, including specimen collection, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
- General laboratory specimen processing and referral laboratory processing.
- Maintain awareness and conformity with accrediting agency and regulatory requirements related to the area of responsibility.
The Medical Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy will focus on quality by ensuring that all work performed is accurate, complete, and within defined time frames. They will meet department standards for productivity and quality and participate in detecting and documenting occurrences that deviate from defined procedures.
Requirements- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years or older if performing phlebotomy.
- Progression through career ladder II-IV is subject to completion of career ladder requirements.
Dependent on department/location, candidate must possess a valid state driver's license in the state of employment and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy. Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations is also preferred.
Working ConditionsThe Medical Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Regular attendance and participation at staff meetings are expected.
Salary InformationThe estimated salary for this role is $20.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on education and experience. In accordance with State Pay Transparency Rules.
