Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assessment Specialist to join our team at POWER. As a member of our Central Intake team, you will play a critical role in providing alcohol and other drug assessments and referrals to clients in a manner that reflects our mission to be gender-responsive and trauma-informed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and review referral information, consulting with other professionals as needed to coordinate services and scheduling client interviews.
  • Conduct screening interviews to determine the need for drug and alcohol assessments and emergent care services, making referrals to appropriate health and human services agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Intake Team to confirm appointment dates, times, and locations, and conduct confidential, quality assessments using ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Collect information from collateral resources to aid in determining diagnosis and need for treatment, and make referrals to the most appropriate programs and agencies to help clients access the right level of care.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and other treatment team members to support clients in their treatment and recovery, using a strength-based and trauma-informed approach.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a women-centered treatment environment or with gender-responsive care preferred.
  • Experience with trauma-informed services, cognitive behavioral therapies, and motivational therapies preferred.
