Feeder/Packer Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Feeder/Packer Trainee to join our production team at Sabert. As a Feeder/Packer Trainee, you will be responsible for feeding paper blanks into machines and sorting, as well as packing clamshell or fry cartons, inspecting product for quality, and ensuring product is properly glued.

• Feed a minimum of 4 machines, lifting product, pre-breaking it, and placing it into the feed hopper.
• Maintain 6 formers, taking plastic off loads, and removing tickets.
• Monitor quality, ensuring cartons are straight, and removing loose scrap.
• Maintain the R.S.C. inventory and supply case packers with the R.S.C.'s they need for production.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Packaging experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures.
• Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in the work area.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment around machinery.

Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. Task-specific PPE may also be required.

The employee may continuously use hands and fingers to position and arms to reach. The employee may frequently bend and move about the work area. The employee may occasionally remain in a stationary position, ascend/descend steps, push and pull, and communicate. The employee may occasionally move and position up to 35 pounds.
