Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a vital member of our healthcare team at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This role involves providing high-quality patient care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician.

The APP will collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to provide a full scope of patient care, focusing on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. This position requires the ability to perform medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide healthcare services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff.
  • Care for patients during acute and chronic phases of illness, educate, and counsel individuals and families, promote health, and prevent disease.
  • Refer patients to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio.
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C.

Working Environment:

This position is with Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, specifically inpatient tracheostomy consult service line.
