Job Title: Patient Access Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Colorado State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient flow, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, providers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to patients, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Manage patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patients through the clinic.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff to resolve issues and address concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient information, insurance details, and appointment schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of clerical experience, including customer service and administrative support.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a medical office or clinic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mental health front desk/administrative experience.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and other medical software.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
