Dedicated Educator for Elementary and Special Education

Spero Academy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dual Licensed K-6 Teacher to join our team. This full-time exempt position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience and education.

Job Summary:

This role requires the ability to create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and cooperative learning environment that supports the school's mission. The ideal candidate will have current licensure in Elementary and Special Education by the State of Minnesota, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact well with internal staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Create lesson plans and adaptations using MN State Standards and Academic benchmarks.
  • Integrate school-adopted curriculum into coherent lessons designed to maximize students' potential.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, data collection, and analysis.
  • Develop and implement individualized programs that meet students' needs.
  • Evaluate students using appropriate evaluation tools and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with support teachers and therapists to ensure student grade-level, IEP, and individual needs are being met.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of assistive technology and provide training to staff as needed.
  • Aid in students' transition into and from school as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure in Elementary and Special Education by the State of Minnesota.
  • Excellent oral, written, and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to interact well with internal staff, students, and parents.
  • Detail-oriented and flexible.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful in the completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
