Med-Surg Overview:

Mercy Fort Smith's Med Surg Service Line comprises 7 specialty units, providing experience with patient populations having a range of diagnoses and care needs.

These units house and care for patients preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions.

We cross-train our nurses between the various specialties to provide a strong foundational knowledge of all types of patient conditions, comorbidities, procedures, etc.

Whether you're a new grad nurse looking to build a strong base or an experienced nurse who enjoys variety in their work, Med Surg is the place for you.

Neuro Unit Details:

We provide close monitoring and nursing care to patients with neurological/neurosurgical/surgical and urological diagnoses, including stroke patients and post-back surgery patients.

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 6:1

# of Beds: 18

UAP to patient ratio: 9:1

Incentives:

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications: Must have American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within probationary period. Must have ACLS and BLS or obtain within 90 days of hire.
