Overview

The UofL Health Marketing and Communications Department is on the lookout for a detail-oriented and driven intern with a keen interest in Public Relations. Under the guidance of the Director of Public Relations, the intern will have the chance to contribute to the creation of public relations initiatives, storytelling, video production, copywriting, event planning, and a range of tasks across the department. This internship will focus on various aspects of writing and video production, including crafting media releases, documenting patient success stories, engaging in strategy discussions, participating in media events, writing blogs, and monitoring media, alongside other PR-related responsibilities.
The department operates as the internal advertising agency for UofL Health, providing the intern with a solid understanding of the essential elements of functioning within a creative advertising agency or marketing division.

Responsibilities


• Assess and generate ideas for marketing prospects and producing fresh content for media releases, patient success narratives, communications, brochures, blogs, social media, and more.

• Additional tasks will be assigned based on individual interests and skills.

• Beyond the focus on Public Relations, this intern will acquire experience in all facets of marketing and communication efforts, including website management, social media engagement, internal communications, video production, strategic communications, and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications


• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in English, Communications, or Marketing.

• Professional demeanor, polished presentation, and a collaborative spirit.

• Ability to concentrate on intricate details within larger projects.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Highly organized.

• Strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
