About the Role
As a seasoned Acute Cardiology Charge Nurse at the University of Virginia, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our inpatient care areas. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and interpersonal abilities to drive excellence in patient care.

Main Responsibilities
* Lead team members in providing safe and efficient patient throughput and access to care
* Collaborate with management to ensure staffing meets patient needs, utilizing established guidelines and protocols
* Accurately document labor management software to optimize fiscal stewardship

Supporting Team Members
* Serve as a resource for team members, promoting adherence to policies and clinical practice guidelines
* Facilitate access to appropriate levels of care, escalating issues as needed
* Foster a calm and productive working environment, supporting team members in non-patient care activities

Patient Experience
* Contribute to enhancing patient experience through support of team member identified needs, patient rounding, service recovery, and problem-solving
* Coordinate support services to address patient needs, engaging with the team, patients, and visitors to optimize the patient experience
* Promote closed-loop communication and collaboration between team members, clinical disciplines, and ancillary departments

Environment of Care
* Ensure regulatory and safety standards are met in the care environment
* Facilitate team huddles and visual management boards to promote communication
* Support setting specific work to achieve local and organizational quality goals, utilizing standard work

Compensation and Benefits
Our competitive salary range for this position is $46.08 - $61.00 hourly. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing BSN/MSN program (completion within 5 years)
* RN Clinician 2 or higher with 6 months of unit experience or prior Charge Nurse experience from another organization
* Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia and American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification

Physical Demands
This role requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, and bending/stooping. You must also possess proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills, with attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs may be required, and exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease may occur.
