Job Description

At Community Residences, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our Day Program, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our clients.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide physical support and assistance to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  2. Develop and implement individualized programs to promote clients' independence and self-advocacy.
  3. Monitor and report any changes in clients' medical, physical, or behavioral status.
  4. Assist with meal preparation and maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  5. Participate in mandatory training and maintain required certifications.
  6. Transport clients to community-based outings and maintain a safe and comfortable vehicle environment.

Requirements:

  1. Valid CT driver's license and good driving record.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in a related Human Services area or Associate's degree with one year of experience.
  3. Training: First Aid, CPR, and PMT certifications required.

Other Qualifications:

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  3. Compassion, patience, and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities.
