CARTI, Inc. is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to join our team.

Job Description:

The Medical Records Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and evaluating patient medical records. This includes reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness, filing and retrieving medical records, and ensuring that all documents are properly indexed and scanned according to policy and procedure.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in a medical clinic setting, with knowledge of medical records work procedures and computer applications. They must also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to multitask effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull and file paper medical records as needed
  • Review documents received to determine if they require scanning
  • Prepare documents for scanning according to policy and procedure
  • Index medical record documents and ensure accuracy of scanning level (patient, encounter, order)
  • Suspend documents without identifiable document type or patient issues for quality review
  • Review documents to ensure appropriate frame, resolution, orientation, etc. and adjust accordingly
  • Respond to phone calls from medical and support personnel requesting medical records
  • Log medical record requests into database
  • Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent patient data from various sources
  • Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information to the physician office
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years' experience in a medical clinic setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical records work procedures and computer applications
  • Courteous and professional telephone skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
