Automotive Technician Salary

Sunroad Automotive is seeking a skilled and experienced Technician Hourly to join our team at BMW of El Cajon. As a key member of our service department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and their vehicles are repaired efficiently and effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to customers. Responsibilities:- Mechanical Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair mechanical problems with vehicles, using a variety of tools and equipment, including computer diagnostic systems.
- Inspections and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and perform tests to confirm proper mechanical function.
- Customer Service: Communicate directly with customers to provide estimates and updates on repairs, ensuring that they are informed and satisfied throughout the process.
- Teamwork and Supervision: Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow and quality of work, as well as supervise and train junior technicians as needed.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 2 years of experience as an entry-level automotive technician preferred.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Valid driver's license and California residency within 30 days required; ASE certification in engine repair, transmission, and brakes desired but not necessary.
- Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift 30 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds; good vision and hearing required for inspecting and testing vehicles.
