About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Options for Southern Oregon. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with psychiatric disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Observe and monitor residents, documenting changes in behavior and mental/medical conditions.
  • Inform lead staff and case managers of residents' needs or concerns.
  • Participate in meal preparation and organization, promoting social, dietary, and hygiene skills.
  • Monitor and assist residents in learning daily living skills.
  • Transport residents as requested.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the treatment environment.
  • Assist in managing behavioral emergencies.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe facility.
  • Keep up-to-date documentation and audit residents' charts.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions as prescribed by the treatment plan.
  • Participate in skills training groups and recreational activities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General understanding of the population served.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly.
  • Mature attitude and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with mental illness.
  • Understanding of HIPAA laws regarding confidentiality.
