About the PositionThis role offers an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in marketing and communications to drive strategic initiatives for two prominent research institutes within the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences: the EMS Energy Institute (EI) and the EMS Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications plans that align with the Institutes' goals and objectives.
As a Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will work closely with institute affiliate researchers, leadership, and stakeholders to understand their priorities, research, and goals. You will translate this information into compelling content across various formats, including articles, social media posts, fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, and digital signage. Your exceptional writing and editorial skills will enable you to craft engaging stories that showcase the Institutes' research successes and promote their mission.
The successful candidate must possess excellent judgment, integrity, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively with diverse stakeholders. This is a hybrid position that combines regular on-campus and remote working.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage integrated marketing and communications plans consistent with institute, college, and University brand strategies.
- Create and disseminate news articles and communications highlighting research successes.
- Design and produce promotional materials, including fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, and digital signage.
- Write and manage social media platforms for both Institutes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to marketing and communications efforts.
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exemplary writing and editorial skills.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to translate strategic goals and initiatives into compelling content across multiple formats.
We offer a competitive salary range of $46,400 - $67,300 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide an attractive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans, generous vacation time, sick leave, and paid holidays.
