Moffatt & Nichol is a leading global infrastructure advisor specializing in the planning and design of facilities that shape and serve our coastlines, harbors, and rivers. We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Seattle or Federal Way.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on power distribution systems, microgrids, and renewable energy. They will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical systems for large-scale projects, including lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex electrical systems for large-scale projects
  • Prepare multiple or complex plans, designs, and plan production for general electrical engineering
  • Work with project managers and electrical teammates to complete multiple or complex electrical designs
  • Provide multiple or complex design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications
  • Prepares detailed large contract documents, studies, and cost estimates
  • Submittal reviews and construction observations for electrical work on projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; required
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; preferred
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) in Electrical Engineering; required
  • 10+ years of related experience in medium/low voltage power distribution systems, grounding systems, lighting systems, communications systems, electrical equipment design, selective coordination, and arc flash studies

Working Conditions:

The majority of work is office-based, with some site visits to meet with clients, subconsultants, utilities, and other parties to investigate site conditions and meet project requirements. Site visits may also include working around live electrical equipment and systems.
