Director of University Engagement and Community Development

The Director of University Engagement and Community Development will lead the Office of Student Experience (OSE) in providing high-quality educational development, social experiences, and leadership programming that aligns with the mission of Delaware State University.
This role requires a student-centered leader who can develop and implement a shared vision for student engagement on campus and within the community. The successful candidate will have expertise in leadership education, training, and development, as well as experience in civic learning and democratic engagement efforts.
The Director will oversee the development of comprehensive leadership education programs, including the Alternative Service Break program, and provide leadership for campus-community outreach and collaboration. This includes working with local non-profit agencies, the Kent County Board of Elections, and other community partners.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Director will be responsible for managing the Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Center and supporting the OSELD departmental assessment and student engagement data reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field, and at least 3 years of professional experience working with students in a higher education setting. Prior experience in a supervisory or management position is also required.

Estimated salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a shared vision for student engagement on campus and within the community.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in program development and management.
